Rules of Engagement (Partying)

It’s been a whirlwind year for me and I do love sharing with you and hearing from you.

Post Derby, Todd and I are finally getting a chance to celebrate our engagement. Being together has been a celebration in and of itself, but an engagement party is a great excuse to just get our favorite people together and eat, drink, and dance.

Now, I know a lot of people have a vision for their weddings and everything that comes with that, but this whole world is so new to me that I definitely had to call in some help. I’ve been working with Wedding Paper Divas and their style partner Mindy Weiss (also my wedding planner) to put together our party this weekend and I couldn’t be more excited for how it’s turning out.

The great thing about working with the pros is there are soooo (and I mean sooo) many details I never would’ve considered. Working with them has been like having a translator to put our vision into practice. We’re going for simple and chic, white and gold, with a couple little nods to special things about Todd and I.

Since we have a lot of couples traveling in to see us from out of town, we really wanted to set the tone for the party from the get-go with the invitation. This is where Wedding Paper Divas was invaluable to us. It’s kind of amazing that whatever you dream up they already have or can make happen. They printed a beautiful invite with the painting Todd commissioned for our proposal. The process has been seamless and hassle free from start to finish…which is always a good thing in my eyes. We got so many compliments on it from our friends and just loved sharing that with everyone. Of course there will be plenty of other little touches (like our nickname ‘TNT’ on our cocktail napkins). We’re so excited to see the full vision come to life.

Todd and I can’t wait to celebrate our love story. I’ll be sure to share photos.

Lots of Love!

X, Tara
