Workout Wear Wednesday: Just Shoe It

I am not a runner. I repeat: I am not a runner.

 Do I run? Sure. Couples miles here. Couple miles there. But the whole distance thing doesn’t really do it for me. Those years of skating made me into a great sprinter and a motivated athlete but it also gave me a few bad knees that just aren’t keen on going the distance.

Thankfully there are a lot of things to do outside in Santa Monica that can get you up and moving without that level of commitment. My friend Chelsea, who is an EXHALE instructor, is a great person to have around to share in my daily exercise. Whether it’s cruising down the boardwalk on our bikes, jogging on San Vincente, or taking Dublin for a nice long stroll, we make every effort to get out and appreciate our beautiful surroundings while still breaking a sweat.

Even without a marathon regiment, I find myself out on my feet so much I am constantly in the market for new sneakers. Right now, I am loving these Nike Air Zoom Vomero 10s. I count on Nike to have awesome cushioning so I feel like I’m gliding down the street and my style-conscious side loves the multiple color ways. If I weren’t so darn short, I’d probably pack up my heels and live in these.

Okay, that’s not true. I’d never give up my heels. But maybe with these new kicks, my feet will forgive me just a little.
