Here Comes The Bride…
Summer is officially wedding season which means a lot of us are officially in the market for that perfect wedding guest dress. Usually when it comes to summer dresses, I’m thinking white, but of course at most weddings that’s off limits. And then there’s that fear of wearing the solid color dress that exactly matches the bridesmaid’s hue (if I know the bride, I always ask!). So since we’re getting into the thick of it, here’s a glimpse at some of my favorite summer wedding looks in a variety of cuts, colors, and costs. No one wants to upstage a bride, but it doesn’t hurt to turn a few heads of your own!
Lace is always classic at a wedding and this has a fun cut out back. It also comes in a range of colors. Loving the pink for summer but could also be a great option for bridesmaids.
You say skater dress, I say yes. The ombre chiffon is so pretty and feminine and you know this would be fun to dance in.
The midi cut has been everywhere this season (I loved it at the Derby) and the lilac hue is really pretty for an outdoor summer event.
Cut outs and crop tops can always be tricky for a formal affair but this ASOS piece is still conservative enough and with a lush print to feel wedding appropriate. It even has removable straps.
Nothing is more chic to me than organza. This has the look of a two piece but just the right peak of skin.
Sleek, sexy and simple. This dress is forgiving in shape (for all that wedding cake) and pockets because girls, we love our pockets. The button back feels very bridal. If the plunge feels too much for you, be sure to get a little fashion tape to keep everything in its place.
I swear I don’t love this dress just because it reminds me of chocolate mint chip ice cream. But it does! The color is so summer and both formal and fun enough to go from an event to a girls night out.
Clearly I have mint dresses on the brain but this cut is a bit sexier and the back brings a lot of sass.
Long dresses aren’t just for black tie affairs. I think a floral maxi is perfect for any summer wedding and the bold print is sure to stand out.
This dress lives up to its name – unique. The collar detail feels preppy and the pattern gives an amazing slimming illusion. Not to mention a great full skirt to twirl in on the dance floor.
For that wedding by the water! This dress feels super glamorous in sequins and its beautiful jewel tones.
Everything about this dress feels like summer wedding to me. I love the colors and full skirt and the romantic way it moves around. Now I just need more friends to get married so I have an excuse to buy it!
