Something Old, Everything New

My mom always says “design never sleeps” so I’m constantly on the lookout for new accents to add to my home. If I don’t keep a room updated every so often I’ll go on a redesign bender and my wallet does not love that.

An update for me, however, doesn’t necessary err on the modern side. I love the rustic look when it comes to accents. The aesthetic is warm and inviting and I always want my rooms to feel like somewhere you could snuggle up with a hot beverage or good friends and feel instantly at home.

Restoration Hardware, you know what’s up.

Keeping in mind that, and I hate to say it, but fall is right around the corner, here are a few rustic accent pieces I’m loving right now.

3 Piece Mirror Map Wall Decor Set

This is my kind of art. Old maps call on my travel side and I love that these come in a variety of shapes.

Birch Candles

Usually I’m not a fan of fake candles but for dinner parties or evening soirées they can burn through the night with no worry, and no melting. I like having them in a variety of heights. The bark adds a nice texture and truly autumnal feel.

Silver Glass Vase Set

These feel so Kiawah to me but I like bringing the ocean anywhere and the netting gives these a beachy feel.

Carved Wood Coffee Table

I always experiment with pieces at different heights and various shapes so I’m digging this little round table as an accent piece.

Faux Hydrangeas

Flowers are one accent I don’t necessarily think have to be real to bring life to a space. This vintage jar however would work with fresh, faux, or even dried flowers and is a pretty alternative to your standard vase.

Wood Frame

In the age of digital photos, I still love my prints and accent frames. Seeing the faces of the people close to you and great memories makes a house a home.

Wallpaper

Wallpaper is having a bit of a comeback moment for me. I’m just starting to experiment with it but I kind of love the idea of this white-washed print in a small space like a library or pantry to warm up a room.

Mirrored Door Cabinet

The combination of mirrored doors and washed wood has become more and more popular and can make a large piece of furniture, like this, feel more integrated into the space.

Wall Clock

My obsession with clocks continues (this will become more apparent to you with time) and combination of blue distressed wood with gold makes this feel truly antique.

Factory Cart Cocktail Table

I am trying to make room in my house for this piece as we speak.
