TGIF, ammiright?

Fridays are good for a lot of things – paychecks, happy hours, late nights. But I think they’re especially good for ‘treat days.’ I call them treat days, not cheat days, because a little indulgence makes me happy and there’s nothing bad about that.

This Friday I’m all about the Ice Cream Float. Have it after dinner, or for dinner, but it’s the perfect and delicious way to close out a long week. My mother used to make them for me growing up so now I’m giving it a whirl on my own. And no, you do not need to be Martha Stewart to make these for yourself and all of your friends.






All you need is:

Ice Cream – one to two scoops per person. You know my chocolate obsession so I go Double Fudge Brownie and I love slow churned because I think it’s even creamier and just happens to have half the fat.

Seltzer Water

Whipped Cream

Sprinkles (I’d say optional but sprinkles should never be optional)


I love these cute waffle cone cups. Not sure where I snagged them but lots of fun kitchen and party stores will have something similar. Scoop in your ice cream, fill with seltzer until you see it start to bubble up towards the surface, cover generously with whipped cream and top with your favorite sprinkles.

And voilà. The way to say TGIF in a cup.
